China remains Vietnam’s large trading partner

According to General Department of Vietnam Customs, in the first 7 months of 2017, import and export turnover of 10 largest markets of Vietnam reached 212.45 billion VND, accounting for 91.1% of the country

China remains the largest market with import and export turnover of US$ 47.21 billion, accounting for 20.3% of total turnover of the country. South Korea remains the second largest trading partner of Vietnam with a total turnover of US$ 34.04, accounting for 14.6%. The United State is the third largest market with the total turnover of US$ 28.86, accounting for 12.4%, followed by the EU market (28 countries) with the total turnover of over US$ 27.94, accounting for 12%.

Regarding export market, in the first 7 months of 2017, the US remains the largest exporter of Vietnam with a turnover of over US $23.44 billion, an increase of 10.2 compared to the same period in 2016. The EU market’s turnover reached US$ 21.4 billion, an increase of 12.6%. China is the third largest exporter with a turnover of over US$ 15.62 billion, an increase of 44%, ASEAN market with a turnover of US$ 12.13 billion, and an increase of 26.5%. Japan is the fifth largest exporter, with a turnover of over US$ 9.42 billion, an increase of 18.2%, followed by the South Korea with a turnover of nearly US$ 7.74 billion, an increase of 28.2%.

Regarding import market, China remains the largest exporter to Vietnam with a turnover US$ 31.59 billion, an increase of 15.3% compared to the same period in 2016, and accounting for 26.8 % of total turnover of the country. South Korea is the second-largest market with US$ 26.31 billion, an increase 48.8%, and accounting for 22.3%. ASEAN is the third largest exporter to Vietnam with turnover US$ 15.81 billion, an increase of 18.1%, accounting for 13.4%.
