43.3 thousand cars were imported into Vietnam in the first five months of 2017
According to the General Department of Vietnam Customs, the total volume of imported CBU cars in May 2017 reached 9,900 units, with worth $US 216 million, up 42.7% in volume and 27. 3% in value compared to the previous month.
The total turnover of imported CBU cars in the first five months of 2017 reached 43,300 units worth $US 878 million, up 5.3% in volume and 10.1% in value compared to the same period last year.
In the first five months of 2017, CBU cars were mainly imported from Thailand with 15,900 units, worth $US 288 million, up 27.2% in volume and 27.4% in value; from Indonesia with 8,700 units worth $US 150 million, up 6.1 times in volume and 8.8 times in value; from China (mainly trucks of all kinds) with 2,700 units, worth $US 105 million, down 52.2% in volume and 52.2% in value.
Cars of 9 seats or less were 23,300 units, worth $US 831 million, up 37.8% in volume and 35.7% in value over the same period last year, trucks were 15,800 units, worth $US 313 million, down 12.5% in volume and down 16.8 % in value.
Cars of 9 seats or less were imported from Indonesia in the first five months of 2017 with 7,200 units, sharply increasing over 100 units compared to the same period in 2016; from Thailand with 5,800 units, up by 90.5%, from India with 4,900 units.
